JOHNS’ RAISES $2.1 MILLION BEFORE WALK BEGINS

Before he’d even taken a step, Andrew Johns managed to raise $2.1 million for the Black Dog Institute.
The League legend began his fund raising walk from Newcastle to Sydney, with the help of his fans and friends including Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

Rabbits have received a pretty tough rap in Australia over the years, blamed for damaging crops and even the extinction of native animals. But not all bunnies are bad.
The hobby of breeding and exhibiting rabbits is called ‘The Fancy’, and reporter Jess Phillis learnt how the game really lives up to its name.

SHOOTING RAMPAGE

A 38-year-old Metford man has been arrested after allegedly gunning down two people in the Hunter Valley overnight.
A 36-year-old man and his 27-year-old girlfriend are in a serious condition at the John Hunter Hospital after being shot several times.
The alleged offender’s arrest follows an extensive police search in Metford this morning.
