MARINERS DECIDE AGAINST LEGAL ACTION

In the A-League, and the Mariners have decided not to take legal action over the controversial suspension of midfielder Patricio Perez.

The club claims it wasn’t given an opportunity to appeal the decision, which saw the Argentine import banned for two home matches by Football Federation Australia for simulation.

The side’s CEO says it’s extremely disappointed with the outcome.

Today was d-day for surfers on the World Championship Tour as the field was cut from 45 to 32.

Those who dropped below the black line have now been relegated back to the ASP PRIME and Star events, and it was bad news for one local.

PEREZ GETS TWO MATCH BAN FOR DIVING

To the A-League now and the Mariners say they’re extremely disappointed Football Federation Australia has suspended midfielder, Patricio Perez, for simulation in the Central Coast’s controversial clash with Sydney on Saturday.

The Argentine import has been banned for two matches.

STATE CYCLING CHAMP TO RACE NATIONS BEST

Berkeley Vale cyclist Travis Smedley will compete at the Junior National Road Championships in Canberra this week.

The 14-year-old recently won Gold and Silver at the State titles, and will represent New South Wales in three events at Mount Stromlo.

GOSFORD SECURES MINOR SEMI IN CENTRAL COAST RUGBY UNION

In Central Coast Rugby Union,
Gosford proved too strong for Ourimbah in the minor semi final yesterday, winning 25 to nil.
Up by ten at half time, a penalty goal for Gosford in the second half strengthed their lead.
Ourimbah dominated posession, but repeatedly fell short of the line.
Gosford winger Adam Cliff proved to be the side’s star, scoring two tries to secure their place in the preliminary final.
Gosford play the loser of next week’s major semi-final between Avoca Beach and Kariong.

MILESTONE MATCH FOR MARINER

The Mariners have been dealt a blow ahead of tomorrow’s game against Sydney FC with Keeper Jess Vanstrattan ruled out due to a suspected ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Defender Pedj Bojic will make his 50th A-League appearance, against the reigning champions, who are yet to register a win this season.
