One of the Central Coast’s most prominent surfing identities was remembered at an event named in his honour.
Now in it’s 20th year, the Coke Memorial Classic began at Forresters Beach, raising much needed money for bone marrow research.
GOSFORD TO LORD HOWE GETS UNDERWAY

Ocean Affinity was the first around the markers at Terrigal, in this years Gosford to Lord Howe Island yacht race.
The event, which is a qualifier for the Sydney to Hobart race, features two yachts from the Central Coast.

After almost 20 years of planning and development, the Armidale gymnastics centre is finally open.
It was smiles all round as the crowds stepped inside the $500,000 centre.

Taree buggy driver, Brent Hopkins, claimed the fastest qualifying time in round six of the State Off-Road Championships at Nabiac.
But he struggled in the first round, with Medowie’s Warren Upton leading at the end of day one, leaving third-placed Troy Tisdell the highest ranked local.
DRUNK TEEN CHARGED

Police say they’re disgusted by the actions of a P-Plate driver, who smashed into the back of a parked car at Maryland early this morning, injuring those inside.
The 19-year-old later returned a blood alcohol reading of point-one-five and has been charged with high-range drink driving.
His car burst into flames after the collision on Berrico Street, but he managed to escape unharmed.
