Jarrod Mullen’s ankle injury means Scott Dureau is almost certain to come straight back into the Knights team after the bye to play Manly.
Coming back from injury himself, Dureau was withdrawn from a scheduled comeback game in Newcastle Rugby League after Mullen was hurt and now awaits his footballing fate with medical scans ahead of medical scans tomorrow.

Inverell has clawed its way back into final four contention with a solid win over Narrabri.
The Magpies ended their two game losing streak but only just, with a one point win over the Rams, while Moree defeated Gunnedah.
In the rounds other games Walcha and the Pirates piled on the points.

SYDNEY FC TOO STRONG FOR JETS

As expected, Sydney FC won this afternoon’s A-League pre-season match, against the Newcastle Jets at Port Macquarie 2 - nil.
Well prepared, Sydney started today unbeaten in 10 pre-season matches so far and the glamour side was on the attack early again, with former socceroo John Aloisi slotting one past the keeper within seven minutes.
There were also encouraging signs for the Jets, with Tarek Elrich and Kaz Patafta working together well on the right hand side.
Newcastle did have some opportunities, Jin Hyung Song trying to break through.
Eight minutes into the second half though, Alex Brosque squared up for Aloisi to make it a double.
Sydney FC defended to the final siren, to seal a two-nil win.

The votes are in and Gravesend’s John Coulton has the numbers in the Gwydir Council bi-election held yesterday.
Mr Coulton snagged almost fifty percent of the vote.
WANDERERS SCORE UPSET WIN OVER PREVIOUSLY UNBEATEN GOSFORD

Kariong has ended Gosford’s unbeaten run in the Central Coast Rugby Union.
In the other games, Woy Woy claimed victory in a tight tussle against Ourimbah, while Terrigal and Northlakes had comfortable wins.
But in the upset of round 12, the Red Devils went down by nine, despite having the home ground advantage over the Wanderers.

The holiday home, which was unoccupied, went up in minutes.
