SPATE OF HOUSE FIRES SPARK WARNING

Three separate building fires over the past 48 hours in the Hunter, have prompted firefighters to issue renewed warnings about safety this winter.

Fire officers say all too often, houses aren’t fitted with working smoke alarms.
