MOTORCYCLIST KILLED AT BEXHILL

A 40-year-old man has died after his trail bike crashed into a cattle fence on Corndale Road at Bexhill.

The man’s body was found in long grass by a passing motorist on Saturday morning, but police believe he died at the scene on Friday night.

A crime scene has been established and Police would like to hear from any witnesses.

Yamba rugby rookie Kane Douglas has come a long way since his days with the Buccaneers, getting a run for the Waratahs in the trial match against Fiji.

The teenager will start the season in the reserves, but will soon be pushing for a position in the top squad.

PUSH FOR TOUGHER P-PLATE LAWS

It’s hoped the custodial sentence handed down to a Lismore teenager will prompt politicians to toughen P-plate laws.

The 19 year old will spend at least two years behind bars, after killing his four mates in a crash at Broken Head.

DOG FREE ZONE

Coffee shop and restaurant owners have slammed Newcastle Council for enforcing new rules, which they say will cost them customers.

As of last week, dogs are no longer allowed in outdoor eating areas.

CENTRAL COAST DOWNED BY NEWCASTLE 17 - 5 IN UNION CLASH

The Central Coast Rugby Union team has had a disappointing start their 2009 campaign, going down to Newcastle by 12 points.

The defending country champions, Newcastle Hunter, proved to good for the visitors, winning comfortably, 17 points to five.

D.A. FOR WYONG POLICE STATION DELAYED

Wyong Shire Council has deferred the latest development application for a new police station in the town, fearing the plans would create more parking chaos in the CBD.

The mayor, Bob Graham, is seeking urgent talks with the Police Minister, Tony Kelly, to help find a solution.

NRL REF RULES NEED TRIAL

P-PLATER SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS PRISON OVER BYRON CRASH

There have been emotional scenes outside Lismore Court, after a teenage driver was sentenced to spend at least two years behind bars, for a car accident that killed four of his friends.

The parents of the victims now have the New South Wales Government in their sights - and are demanding tougher restrictions on P-plate drivers.
