While she was unopposed, it was a three way battle to be her deputy.
Barry Longland received four votes out of a possible seven to win the open ballot late this afternoon.
HOSPITAL WORKERS PROTEST

Hundreds of administration and clinical hospital workers on the Gold Coast walked off the job today.
They held protests, demanding better wages from the state government.
SURFERS PARADISE BUS ACCIDENT

Dozens of commuters had a terrifying start to the morning, when two buses collided in Surfers Paradise.
Those onboard, including small children, were showered with glass.
CABINET CONSIDERS COMMUNTIY CONCERNS

More than 500 people turned out to see the Prime Minister and his cabinet at the community forum in Lambton.
And while only a handful got in questions, it seemed climate change and public education, not local issues were the top concerns.
