COMEBACK KID

July 5, 2008

Just three months ago Lake Macquarie’s Blake Sheard had a life threatening tumour removed from his head, but now he’s not only fighting fit, he’s also returned to the soccer field.

A cuddle from mum, pep talk from the coach, and little Blake Sheard was off and racing for the start of his first soccer game, since a tumour was removed from his brain in April.

Over the past three months, Blake’s endured five operations but never lost touch with this beloved team.

According to his mother, Rebecca Sheard he’s gone to every training session and home game to support his team.

Today the brave little 5 year old was in the thick of the action, overjoyed to be back on the field.

His parents watching on with relief and pride.

“Very happy day that he’s back at soccer with all of his friends and can’t wait to finally get the all clear that he will not have to go back, and no more signs of the cells,” said Mrs Sheard.

The under six Barnsley Bull Ants, were clearly thrilled to have their mate back, and for the record, Barnsley won the match.
