Katie Noonan
"Justly celebrated as the owner of one of the best voices in the country" - Bernard Zuel
In the middle of a hectic tour, Katie Noonan dropped by Musicology to present a workshop to aspiring musicians.
In Newcastle with her band Elixir to perform at Lizotte's, Katie spent 1 1/2 hours talking about her life and her music. Her first taste of music started while growing up in a musical family (her mother being the first Opera singer to be accepted into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music), and how her first love was the piano before discovering pop music.
The topics ranged from how she developed her art, her favourite performers, and various techniques to further one down the musical path. Once Katie took to the stage the audience were mesmerised by her angelic voice and it was easy to see why she is such a highly regarded singer and songwriter.
"Having Katie come to give a workshop is a dream come true," said local artist and Musicology principal, Gianni Michelini. "She was so eager to answer any questions from the audience and really went out of her way to help the students."

The workshops are set to become a feature at Gianni's Musicology. "I'm really excited about some of the artists I've been talking to, but I really can't go into too much detail until everything is finalised", said Gianni.
