This week will be by far the best week of winter so far.
It is very clear across the nation thanks to a big blocking high and it is going to take its time.
Across the region there will be some beautiful days, very cold nights, morning fog patches and frosts over the next five days.
There is a system coming through on the weekend with a lot of cold air. It is actually going to warm up as we move towards the end of the week but then this system is going to come through on the weekend and there is a lot of cold air wrapped up in it.
This is what skiers and snowboarders like to see at this time of year. This means a lovely snow dump for the ski resorts this weekend and early next week. The season is shaping up pretty well at this point.
There are also great conditions for surfers with that big low moving out into the Tasman, so great waves up and down the coast.
